Roberto Therón Sánchez es Catedrático de la Universidad del Departamento de Informática y Automática en la Universidad de Salamanca (USAL), con 2 sexenios de investigación, 1 sexenio de transferencia y 4 quinquenios docentes reconocidos. Desde 2006 es el director del Grupo de Investigación en Analítica Visual y Visualización de Información (VisUsal, http://vis.usal.es) integrado en el Grupo de Investigación Reconocido por la USAL (y Grupo de Excelencia de Castilla y León) GRIAL (GRupo de investigación en InterAcción y eLearning). Ha sido coordinador del Programa de Doctorado en Ingeniería Informática de la USAL (2012-2017) y actualmente es el Director del Máster Universitario en Sistemas Inteligentes (desde 2012).
