Resumen

This investigation compares two versions of the UTPL Open Campus six weeks course “Valorando la educación a distancia”. The purpose of these courses was to cover the main generalities, organization, and the educative process that involves in distance education learning. The course was developed through self-instructional and was designed with gamification activities like quizzes and challenges developed
activities with peer review. At the end of the course, the participants completed a survey, which collects their perceptions about the methodology applied and the appreciation of the information and training given during the course. The outcomes of this investigation revealed that a high percentage of the participants consider that this course contributed to their personal development and help them realized the implications of a distance education system.
