Resumen

Usability evaluations are a fundamental factor in the quality of any

web page and in the educational and teaching/learning sector it is

essential to know what tools such as these offer in the usability of

those evaluated. For this reason, several methods have been proposed

to evaluate the level of usability of web pages. However, this

large number of existing techniques makes the choice of the most

appropriate method complex, which justifies a study on current

trends, to identify the most appropriate criteria to make the right

choice in each instance of testing. This paper shows the process

of one of these techniques: the heuristic evaluation, which allows

to evaluate the usability of an IT platform oriented to mentoring

using a template of the Sirius methodology, which defines a metric

evaluation of a portal designed for an e-mentoring program, with

the purpose of identifying and measuring the characteristics and

criteria necessary in an adequate process of user usability. A summary

of the method used is shown, and the linkage between the

web developers and the evaluation team is reported
