Resumen

The impact of new digital technologies, developed in the last decades, has substantially modified the conception, use and practices, which to the present day, remained immutable for centuries in the world of music and performing arts; from edition or distribution of contents, to production or management of sheet music. In parallel with the emergence and growth of the e-book, it have been developed applications with specific functions and tolos, focused in reading and handling sheet music and musical texts in digital formats. The progressive inclusion, within these applications, of specialized tools for text annotation, study and practice, or music performance, and the present days acknowledgement of them as great educational value resources, has been resolved with the birth of a new category of applications specifically developed for music teaching and learning related purposes. This work aims to describe the great potential of these new emerging tools, largely in response to a progressive generalization of music as a globalized social practice. It also describes the various possibilities of use and application in relation to the context, discipline or matter on which they are involved, as well as the different avalaible resources for each particular educational need.
